
Meet Pastor John and Lady Joy
Pastor
John Daniels III


Erickajoy Daniels is a community resource, with over two decades of development and consulting experience. She most recently lead system-wide diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at Advocate Health, Wisconsin’s largest private employer and the 4th largest not-for-profit health system in the nation. Lady Joy founded Gate Girls, a women's empowerment network with members as far east as Shanghai and west as Santa Barbra. Lady Joy is also an author, publishing the book "Taking Care of Business While My Husbands at the Gate" in 2022. Lady Joy has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and earned her master’s degree in management through Marian University.

As an active community leader, Lady Joy enjoys serving as a trustee at Mount Mary University. Erickajoy also serves on several boards including TEMPO Milwaukee Professional Womens Network, Penfield Children’s Center, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee, Center for Healthcare Innovation, Raynor Memorial Library for Marquette University, A.L.I.V.E Milwaukee, Links Inc. of Milwaukee and is seated on the leadership team as chaplain for the Milwaukee chapter of Jack and Jill of America.

Lady Joy has been married to Pastor John for 19 years. She is proud to serve as First Lady of Zion Strong and has stood by Pastor John from marriage, to ordination and here today. She and Pastor John are the proud parents of 15 -year old John Daniels IV, a sophomore at Marquette University High School who founded his own entrepreneurship hub called Pontem.
Pastor John is a native of Milwaukee. He has completed a Master’s Program of Organizational Leadership at Marian University. He has also studied at University of Michigan, CH Mason Theological Seminary and Princeton University.
With a heart for seeing young people flourish, he started a mentoring program called ALIVE - Administering Life In Vocational Experiences. ALIVE offers exciting and inspiring interactions for youth to work with professionals in diverse career fields, to help their own personal aspirations come alive. Grounded in biblical principles, he builds bridges for youth to explore the opportunities God has for them. .

John was ordained into the ministry officially on March 4, 2010 as an Elder in the in the historic Wisconsin First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, then under the leadership of the late Bishop Sedgwick Daniels.
Since 2014, he has been the servant leader of the Zion Strong ministry. In January 2024, he returned to his first church home to serve on the pastoral team of Holy Redeemer Institutional Church in Milwaukee. He now serves as the Religious and Corporate Affairs Pastor and head of their Virtual Ministry, under the leadership of Senior Executive Pastor Valerie Daniels-Carter. Through his roles at both Holy Redeemer and the Zion Strong ministry, Pastor John has pioneered a culture of powerful worship and practical word. Even as he leads a virtual ministry that stemmed from a physical church planted by his first church home, Pastor John continues to minister the word of online and in person, in Milwaukee and across the world.
